Human Intelligence
For me, a persons intelligence is defined by how they learn from a mistake they have made. For example, if somebody makes a mistake, never repeats it again and learns from it, or can figure or analyse where and how they are going wrong, I would argue that they are intelligent. Likewise, if a person makes mistakes and never learns from the mistakes, or keeps on making them, I would argue that they are a very stupid and unintelligent person.

I strongly disagree, Kevin. By that reasoning you would consider me "a very stupid and unintelligent person" as my Aspergers assessment included the following comments:
"Wild presents with difficulties in social interactions, in achieving and maintaining relationships, friendships and in all aspects of social communication; poor relationships with his peers and a lack of responsiveness to social cues and to his own behaviour in relation to others. Comments on his 'inappropriate behaviour' (eye rolling and arrogant manner) had been made [at work]. His career history ... reports similar difficulties arising in each of his roles which suggest AN INABILITY TO LEARN FROM HIS PREVIOUS MISTAKES AND TO GENERALIZE FROM EXPERIENCE [my emphasis]. [He] is competent in his technical role or tasks but then [when] being given responsibility for managing people [is] unable to alert his managers to his difficulties and request support. It is clear that Wild is struggling to cope with everyday life."
Even as a schoolchild, I was always described as "bright and intelligent" but there are some things that I just can't seem to get right, no matter how I try. It's not a lack of intelligence but.. something else. I think it's connected to my Aspergers in that there are some situations in which I seem to be unable to imagine an outcome which is different from the one that I am pursuing and wish to happen, even in the face of clear evidence to the contrary.
Combine this with an appalling memory and you get someone like me, apparently intelligent yet capable of repeating the same mistakes throughout life.
Einstein (or someone else) said "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results".
So maybe I am insane, but that doesn't mean I'm not intelligent!
